Sankara was started with the mission to work towards eradicating needless blindness.
Sankara Eye Foundation India is a Not for Profit organisation committed to provide quality eye care services to the poor and marginalised sections of the society. Started as a small primary health care centre in the year 1977 by Dr R.V. Ramani and Dr Radha Ramani, today Sankara is one among the largest and fastest growing social enterprise managing 13 super specialty eye care hospitals located across Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh , Madhya Pradesh ,Rajasthan , Maharashtra and Telangana

The global burden of blindness due to cataract is increasing day by day. In such scenario Sankara‘s goal is to eliminate needless blindness.

Successfully implementing a Comprehensive Paediatric Eye Care Program for visually handicapped, underprivileged school children of Karnataka.
Focused in providing a bright future to visually handicapped children by increasing early detection of eye diseases to prevent visual impairment.

As we conclude the challenging year 2020-2021, we acknowledge the enormous efforts put in by Team Sankara in facing the Pandemic.
