Bengaluru, October 1st, 2015: Sankara Eye Hospital, one of the premier eye hospitals in the country dedicated towards eliminating needless blindness installed the world’s fastest German built Vitrectomy machine, Geuder ‘megaTRON S4 HPS ’along with Electroretinogram (ERG) and Pascal Laser making it a comprehensive Centre of Excellence for Vitreoretinal & Ocular Oncology. The Centre of Excellence Vitreoretinal & Ocular Oncology was inaugurated today by Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr. U. T. Khader at the hospital premises in the presence of Dr. R. V Ramani, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sankara Eye Foundation, India and other dignitaries from various walk’ of life.
Dedicating this Centre of Excellence to the people of Karnataka, Hon. Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr U. T Khader said, “I am delighted that the state-of-the-art excellence begins from our state and I am sure that Sankara Eye Foundation would plan for enabling such technologies at its other centres too thereby offering best of its services”.
The first of its kind in Asia, ‘megaTRON S4 HPS’will ensure safer and faster Vitreoretinal surgeries with its double cutter and integrated laser translating into better outcomes. This allows 12000 cuts a minute. PASCAL Laser with yellow 577 nm is the unique and only one LASER inthe county that allows effective treatment of diabetics with minimal collateral damage.This allows simultaneously 16 laser shot, enhancing patient’s safety and comfort. Veris Clinicis the advanced electro-diagnostic equipment, which enhance the ability to diagnose of diseases affecting retina and the optic.
